NYC protesters chant ‘Free Palestine’ on Int’l Quds Day

New York, IRNA – Pro-Palestine protesters hit the streets of New York City on Friday to mark International Quds Day, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and chanting “Free Palestine”.

Muslims, human rights and anti-war activists, along with Neturei Karta Jews, who are against Zionism, gathered at Times Square in a show of support for the Palestinian people including the residents of the Gaza Strip which has been devastated by six months of war waged by the Israeli regime.

The protesters denounced the ongoing brutal attacks against the people of Gaza and expressed their anger at the US government’s support for the Israeli regime.

They also condemned the international community’s inaction to bring an end to crimes committed against Gazans.

People across the world marked International Quds Day, an event commemorated on the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan. Quds Day was designated by the founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini, in 1979 in solidarity with the Palestinian people whose land has remained under Israeli occupation for more than seven decades now.
